Model History and Information: Peterbilt developed the Model 589 to follow the Model 389 and unveiled it on May 9, 2023, during a launch event at Texas Motor Speedway. The design keeps traditional Peterbilt cues such as a wrap-around grille crown with triple bars, rectangular grille mesh, the bird ornament and an aluminum hood, while adding a robotically assembled cab, collision mitigation and predictive cruise control. Production started in Denton, Texas, in January 2024. This 1:32 tractor is specified with the 131-inch BBC hood, a 58-inch sleeper and three rear axles, plus the optional Legendary package, which Peterbilt lists as the 1939 script logo, bright hood spears, polished fenders and bright rocker panels. The replica is finished in red.
