Model History and Information: The Model 589 is Peterbilt's successor to the Model 389, revealed in May 2023 and built at the company's Denton, Texas, plant since January 2024. Peterbilt moved the truck to the 2.1-meter cab platform and offers it with a 121-inch or 131-inch BBC aluminum hood, either with a sleeper or as a day cab. Its classic styling includes pod-mounted headlights, a stainless steel grille and dual stainless steel external air cleaners, and Peterbilt said the first 589 units built would carry an individually numbered commemorative plate on the passenger side dash. This 1:32 model represents a 131-inch BBC day cab on a tandem rear axle, finished in red and fitted with an oversize load banner above the cab.
