Model History and Information: Designed as the successor to the Model 389, the Peterbilt Model 589 was unveiled on May 9, 2023, and entered production in Denton, Texas, in January 2024. Peterbilt lists it as a Class 8 on-highway truck with front axle and suspension ratings up to 22,800 lb and rear axle and suspension ratings up to 78,000 lb, and it can be ordered as a day cab or with sleepers from 44 to 80 inches. Exterior details include 15-inch air cleaners, 7-inch exhaust stacks and LED daytime running lights in the fender braces. This 1:32 model is a red 131-inch BBC day cab on three rear axles, equipped with a rack behind the cab and an oversize load banner.
