Model History and Information: The Boeing 727-200 was a stretched version of the original 727, lengthened by about 20 feet to carry more passengers on the same three-engine layout. It made its first flight on 27 July 1967 and entered airline service at the end of that year. This model shows a 727-200 in Boeing's own 1960s house colours, as used on company aircraft during the development and demonstration of the type. The 727-200 went on to become the most-produced version of the trijet, and the 727 family became one of the best-selling jetliners of its era.
