Model History and Information: The Cat® 365B L Series II is a large hydraulic excavator in the roughly 60-tonne class that Caterpillar built for heavy production digging and loading in quarrying and large construction. It ran a Caterpillar 3196 engine rated at 404 hp (302 kW) net flywheel power, with a maximum travel speed of 2.6 mph (4.1 km/h). Caterpillar offered the Series II with a Mass Excavator boom that, paired with either of two sticks, allowed higher digging forces and the use of larger buckets than the standard front, extending the machine's role in heavy-duty mass excavation and loading work.
