Model History and Information: The Cat® MH3040 is a wheeled material handler built for scrap metal recycling, waste handling, and timber mill yard work, tasks that call for a tall cab and long reach rather than digging depth. Caterpillar rates its reach at up to 15.5 m (50.8 ft) and powers it with a C7.1 engine producing 151 kW (202 hp) that meets Tier 4 Final and Stage V emission standards. Compared with the M325D L MH it replaced, Caterpillar states the MH3040 cuts fuel costs by up to 25 percent, lowers maintenance costs by up to 20 percent, and emits up to 34 percent less CO2. This 1:50 scale High Line Series model reproduces the machine's elevated cab, boom, and grapple attachment.
