Model History and Information: Caterpillar Tractor Co. was formed in 1925 through the consolidation of the C.L. Best Tractor Co. and The Holt Manufacturing Company, and its early product line relied on designs inherited from those predecessors. The Twenty, which went into production in 1927, was the first tractor designed and built entirely by the new company, and Diecast Masters notes that its name came from its rated 20 drawbar horsepower. It remained in production into the 1930s. This 1:50 Centennial Model was issued for the Caterpillar 100th anniversary and is finished in gray with red trim, the standard Caterpillar color scheme of the late 1920s. It sits on a black base with the Caterpillar anniversary logo and includes a collector's card with vintage artwork and specifications.
