1:50 Caterpillar Twenty Centennial Model
Model History and Information: The Twenty was the first machine Caterpillar designed entirely on its own. The company had been formed in 1925 by the merger of Holt and Best, and until 1927 its range consisted of designs inherited from those two firms; the twenty-horsepower Twenty, introduced that year, was the first that was Caterpillar from the ground up. Two experimental machines were run for weeks at the San Leandro test grounds before production began late in 1927, moving to East Peoria the following year. Caterpillar traces its modern product line back to it.
