Model History and Information: Caterpillar introduced the D11 in February 1986 as the D11N, replacing the D10 with a bigger track and blade and a 770 hp Cat 3508 V-8 diesel engine; it remains the company's largest and most powerful bulldozer, built in East Peoria, Illinois. The current D11T, introduced in 2008, uses a Cat C32 ACERT engine rated at 850 hp and is used mainly in mining, as well as to push-load scrapers and rip rock overburden. Its 45 cubic-yard standard blade capacity rises to nearly 58 cubic yards on the D11T Carrydozer version. This 1:64 scale model reproduces the D11 dozer.
