Model History and Information: Great Dane began in 1900 as the Savannah Blow Pipe Company in Savannah, Georgia, and started building highway trailers in 1931. In the 2010s its dry vans became the Champion line, which the company builds in Sheet-and-Post and Composite versions, in 28-foot pup, 48-foot and 53-foot lengths, with FleetPulse asset tracking as standard. This 1:64 set hitches a 53ft Champion dry cargo trailer to a fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia, the version of Freightliner's Class 8 truck unveiled on October 15, 2024, with upgraded camera and radar sensing and brake-by-wire braking backed by pneumatics. The packaging identifies the tractor as a Fifth Generation Cascadia, and both the Winter-White tractor and the trailer are white.
