Model History and Information: The Boxer is built around a removable mission module, allowing one common drive module to become an infantry carrier, ambulance, command post or artillery platform. Germany received its first series-production Boxers in September 2009, while the Netherlands began fielding its own vehicles in 2013, with deliveries continuing through 2018. That modular idea is the important story behind this vehicle: the same 8x8 base can be reconfigured much faster than buying a different armoured fleet for every job. Modern deployments and export programmes have made Boxer one of Europe's most visible current armoured-vehicle families.
