F/A-18B Hornet "ARDU" A21-101, RAAF (with 2 x AGM-158) (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 10.0 x 10.0 x 3.2 in.
Model History and Information: The RAAF's two-seat F/A-18B Hornets, serialled from A21-101, complemented the single-seat A fleet from the mid-1980s in training and operational roles. Australia progressively upgraded its Hornets with new radar, avionics and precision weapons, and integrated the AGM-158 JASSM stand-off cruise missile, being among the first operators to field that weapon on the type. The Aircraft Research and Development Unit at RAAF Base Edinburgh performed much of the flight-test and weapons-clearance work underpinning these capabilities. A21-101, the first of the B-model batch, is representative of the two-seat Hornets used in test, evaluation and conversion training before the type's retirement in 2021.
