Model History and Information: The BMW M3 E46 with Competition Package combined the naturally aspirated straight-six of the regular M3, rated by BMW M at 252 kW (343 hp), with selected chassis and control features associated with the M3 CSL. BMW's 2004 announcement listed more direct steering, larger front brake discs, M Track mode and CSL-style wheels. It also identified Interlagos Blue metallic as a color offered exclusively with the package. The upgraded brakes and steering sharpened the standard coupe's specification without changing the underlying M3 engine. BMW made the package available from December 2004.
