Model History and Information: Nismo announced the R34GT-R Z-tune on 20 December 2004 as the top of the GT-R range, a limited series of 20 complete cars built on used Skyline GT-R (BNR34) V-Spec bases. Its RB26DETT-based Z2 engine displaced 2,771 cc and produced at least 500 PS and 540 N-m of torque, and each of the 20 engines received a serial number. Nismo listed a carbon-fiber front bumper, an aluminum radiator, 365 mm front discs with monobloc six-piston calipers and three-way adjustable dampers on a Sachs base. The company said it drew on its racing experience in Group A, N1, GT500 and Nur competition. Nismo's specification lists the body color as Z-tune Silver, a color exclusive to the Z-tune, and a vehicle weight of 1,600 kg.
