Model History and Information: This 1:87 Earth Mover playset pairs a Cat 730 articulated truck with a sculpted terrain base, a tub of Motion Sand, a construction worker figure, two road signs and three black barriers. The full-size 730 belongs to Caterpillar's three-axle articulated truck line, and Caterpillar's listing for the 2008 model specifies a 31-ton rated payload and a Cat C11 ACERT engine. The articulating hitch steers the truck, while its oscillation keeps every wheel in ground contact on rough terrain. On-the-go differential locks improve cycle times, and a three-point front suspension with an oscillating axle smooths the ride so the operator can travel at speed over rough ground.
