Model History and Information: The Cat® CP56 is a single-drum vibratory soil compactor fitted with a padfoot drum, well suited to compacting cohesive soils such as clays on earthworks. Heavy-duty scrapers break material away from the drum surface as it turns, allowing the padfeet to penetrate deep into the material being compacted. Its pod-style vibratory system, carried over from earlier Cat soil compactors, delivers compactive force while keeping the design simple to service, and Caterpillar offers a leveling blade option to extend the machine's versatility on the jobsite. This 1:87 scale model reproduces the padfoot-drum version of the compactor.
