Model History and Information: The Cat® CT681 was a Class 8 set-forward-axle vocational truck Caterpillar designed for demanding, heavy-haul construction work. It paired the Cat CT13 engine, rated from 365 to 430 hp, with the six-speed Cat CX31 automatic transmission, and its Hendrickson rear suspension options covered capacities from 40,000 to 85,000 lb. Caterpillar tested the platform in dump, mixer, super-dump and snowplow configurations. This 1:87 scale model reproduces the CT681 fitted with a dump body rather than the mixer body used on other CT681 releases.
