Model History and Information: The Cat 627G is a tandem-powered wheel tractor-scraper, using a Cat C15 ACERT engine rated at 246 kW (330 hp) to pull the tractor and a Cat C9 ACERT engine rated at 178 kW (239 hp) to drive the scraper bowl, both meeting U.S. EPA Tier 3 emissions standards. This auger version adds a rotating auger in the bowl that lifts material off the cutting edge, conditions it, and spreads it evenly for true self-loading, blending the load and helping eliminate voids for a more consistent payload in sticky or rocky ground. The bowl holds 22 cubic yards heaped (15.7 cubic yards struck), and dual-horsepower control automatically raises power to the scraper engine when the auger is engaged or during haul, letting the 627G cut, load, haul, and spread earth in a single pass.
