Model History and Information: The StuH 42 kept the StuG III chassis in the infantry-support role after the long-gun StuG had been pulled increasingly toward tank destruction. Its 10.5 cm howitzer fired a heavier high-explosive shell against fieldworks and buildings, and it sat in the same low fixed casemate rather than a turret. Production began in 1943, first with converted vehicles and then on Ausf. G chassis; 1,299 were built by the war's end. The bush camouflage is an edition treatment and does not assert a documented wartime deployment for this particular miniature.
