Model History and Information: The Cat 308 CR is a mini hydraulic excavator in the 8-metric-ton class, and its compact-radius design keeps the swing of the counterweight within the tracks so the machine can work close to obstacles. Caterpillar introduced this next-generation 308 CR to replace the older, fixed-boom 307.5, adding a Cat C3.3B diesel meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V standards along with a diesel particulate filter, and increasing digging depth to 15 feet 5 inches and maximum reach to 22 feet 8 inches in the long-stick configuration.
