Model History and Information: Western Star introduced the 4700 at the 2011 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis as a Class 8 vocational truck to sit alongside its 4900 and 6900 models. It was offered in set-forward and set-back front axle configurations, and its 110-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab dimension was aimed at dump, mixer, crane, roll-off, sewer vacuum and plow work. SBFA in the title refers to the set-back front axle version. Western Star built the 4700 with a galvannealed steel cab, and its literature lists the model in both truck and tractor form. This blue edition depicts the 4700 as a tandem-axle day cab tractor.
