Model History and Information: This 1:50 set pairs a fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia with a Great Dane Champion 53ft dry cargo trailer. Freightliner introduced the Cascadia in 2007, and Daimler Truck North America reports that customers have purchased more than one million of them. The fifth generation was unveiled on October 15, 2024, with an upgraded camera, new short-range radar sensors and an Intelligent Braking Control System that combines brake-by-wire technology with backup pneumatics. Great Dane, founded in Savannah, Georgia, in 1900, gave its dry van line the Champion name in the 2010s. It builds Champion vans in Sheet-and-Post and Composite versions, with hot-dipped galvanized rear impact guards as standard. Both tractor and trailer are finished in white.
