Model History and Information: The Boeing AH-64 Apache is the US Army's principal attack helicopter, and its latest AH-64E Guardian version adds more powerful engines, improved sensors and the ability to work closely with unmanned aircraft. Indonesia requested eight AH-64E Guardians through the US Foreign Military Sales programme in 2012 to give its army a modern attack-helicopter capability. The first three arrived from the United States in December 2017, and the full batch of eight was formally handed over to the Indonesian Army at Semarang in Central Java in May 2018. Armed with a chin-mounted cannon, rockets and Hellfire missiles, the Apache gives Indonesian ground forces heavy, precise fire support. This model wears Indonesian Army markings.
