Model History and Information: Introduced in June 2019, the S is the high-performance, sharper-handling version of Alpine's rear mid-engined sports car. Its 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine is uprated over the standard 252 PS car, and the chassis is firmed up with stiffer springs, revised anti-roll bars and dampers, plus high-performance brakes. Ride height is lowered by 4 mm and grippier Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted for extra traction. Like the rest of the range it is built in Dieppe, France and drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The line traces back to the celebrated 1960s Berlinette, a successful rally car of its era.
