Model History and Information: The Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible pairs Bentley's grand-touring convertible body with a smaller, lighter engine than the marque's traditional W12. Introduced for the 2012 model year, it uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 500 bhp (507 PS) and 660 Nm of torque, driving all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Despite the reduced-capacity engine, Bentley engineered the V8 version to match much of the W12 Continental's refinement and pace, reaching 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 4.8 seconds. The V8 also improved fuel efficiency and emissions by around 40 percent compared with the outgoing W12-only Continental GT range, broadening the model's appeal.
