Model History and Information: The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine hypercar that succeeded the Veyron when Bugatti unveiled it in March 2016. It uses an 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing 1,500 PS (1,479 hp) and drives all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Compared with the Veyron, the Chiron gained roughly 25 percent more power thanks to increased boost pressure, while a stronger carbon-fibre monocoque and larger cooling and aerodynamic systems allowed the extra output to be used safely at high speed. Bugatti positioned the Chiron as a road-legal continuation of the brand's pursuit of extreme top-speed performance, building on technology first developed for the Veyron.
