Model History and Information: The Bumerang is the wheeled member of Russia's generation of modular armoured vehicles, intended to replace the BTR-80 and BTR-82A. It moves the engine forward and puts a rear ramp at the back, so the infantry no longer have to climb out through side hatches as they did in the older carriers. Two versions are built on the platform: the K-16 personnel carrier, with a small unmanned turret and a 12.7 mm machine gun, and the K-17 fighting vehicle, whose remote turret carries a 30 mm cannon, a coaxial machine gun and Kornet anti-tank missiles. It was shown publicly in 2015.
