Model History and Information: The Cat® 272D2 is a skid steer loader in Caterpillar's D2 Series, which succeeded the C-Series with a sealed engine compartment, reduced emissions, and a standard Advanced Display for on-screen adjustment of implement response and hystat settings. Like the 272C before it, the 272D2 uses a long wheelbase and vertical-lift design for extended reach and truck-loading height, powered by a Cat C3.8 turbocharged diesel engine. Skid steers in this size class are used for tight-quarters loading, grading, and material handling on construction and landscaping sites. This model reproduces the 272D2 as a keychain for Caterpillar's Micro Constructors line, distinguishing it from the 272C skid steer also sold as a small display model in the same range.
