Model History and Information: The Cat® 320 is Caterpillar's benchmark 20-ton-class hydraulic excavator, part of a 300 Series excavator lineup that Caterpillar introduced in the 1990s and that became a standard machine for general construction, quarry, and heavy-duty digging, trenching, and truck-loading work. The line has continued through several generations, including the 320D introduced in 2007 and the Next Generation 320 launched in 2017 with a twin-turbocharged engine and improved hydraulics. Its reputation for durability and resale value has made it one of Caterpillar's most widely used excavator models worldwide. This Cat Micro model reproduces the 320 at a small no-scale size for the Micro Constructors line, distinguishing it by subject from the smaller 315D and larger M318D and M323F wheel excavators also in the Diecast Masters catalog.
