Model History and Information: This assortment covers two Diecast Masters Micro Constructors four-packs, each displayed on one long interlocking landscape base under a clear cover. According to the printed card on the back, Set A holds a Cat 320 hydraulic excavator with a cleanup bucket, a Cat 770 off-highway truck, a Cat 950M wheel loader in log fork version and a Cat 272C skid steer loader with pallet forks. Set B holds a Cat 320 hydraulic excavator with a grapple, a Cat D5G XL track-type tractor, a Cat 420E backhoe loader and a Cat 299C compact track loader with pallet forks. On the real machines, Caterpillar developed the 770 for construction, mining and quarry applications, and the extra long undercarriage of the D5G XL adds ground contact area and flotation for finish grading.
