Model History and Information: The Cat® D5G is a small track-type tractor (dozer) used for grading, backfilling, and light dozing, work where its compact size and low ground pressure suit finish grading and confined job sites better than a larger dozer. Small dozers in this class are common on landscaping, residential, and utility jobs where a larger machine would be harder to maneuver than on open sites. Caterpillar's small dozer lineup has continued to be updated over successive generations following the G Series shown here. This Cat Micro model reproduces the D5G XL at a small no-scale size for the Micro Constructors line, distinct in subject from the larger D8T also in the range.
