Model History and Information: The Charleston began as a limited series of eight thousand cars presented at the 1980 Paris motor show, finished in two-tone Delage Red and black with art deco styling cues. It sold so well that Citroen added it to the regular catalogue in July 1981, the production version differing from the limited run in its chrome headlamp shells and grey diamond-pattern upholstery. A yellow and black combination followed in 1982 and a two-grey scheme in 1983. The Charleston outlived every other version of the car: the very last 2CV built, in July 1990 at Mangualde in Portugal, was a grey Charleston.
