Model History and Information: The Cat CT681 was the set-forward axle model in Caterpillar's CT vocational truck line. Caterpillar described it as a Class 8 truck ideal for hauling heavy loads or working in extreme conditions, with industrial styling, aluminum alloy cab construction to reduce weight and the Cat CT13 engine. An optional integral front frame extension made it easy to mount attachments such as snow plows, hose reels, winches and hydraulic pumps, and vertical tie-in plates behind the cab simplified mixer installation. Caterpillar launched the CT line in 2011 and announced its end in 2016. This 1:87 model shows the CT681 as a dump truck with a yellow cab, three rear axles and a black dump body.
