Dassault Mirage 2000-5F France Air Force 2-FA “Cigognes” (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 7.85 x 4.99 x 2.84 in.
Model History and Information: This Mirage 2000-5F also carries the markings of Escadron de Chasse 1/2 “Cigognes,” the French Air Force's oldest fighter unit, tracing its lineage to First World War aces Georges Guynemer and René Fonck. The squadron flew the Mirage IIIC from 1961, converted to the Mirage 2000C in 1984 and moved to the Mirage 2000-5F in the late 1990s, relocating to Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur air base in 2011. The 2000-5 upgrade added RDY radar and MICA missile capability to the Mirage 2000C airframe, moving the interceptor from a gun-and-heat-seeker fighter into the beyond-visual-range era. Aircraft 2-FA is one of the squadron's Mirage 2000-5F fighters carrying that heritage today.
