This 1:72 scale release depicts Spooky 71, serial 43-49770, whose crew was called to support troops at Long Binh on February 24, 1969. A mortar hit tore into the aircraft's right wing and scattered shrapnel through the cabin. During the attack, Airman First Class John Levitow prevented a live flare from detonating inside the aircraft, an action for which he received the Medal of Honor. Despite the damage, the crew returned the gunship safely to base.

Model Features & Details:

1:72 scale painted diecast Douglas AC-47 gunship in green and brown camouflage.

Detailed crew figures and fuel tanks.

Moving rear and ventral guns.

Optional landing gear-down configuration.

Rotatable propellers.

Produced under license from Boeing for the Douglas AC-47 and C-47 Skytrain trademarks.

Packaging: Includes one diecast model, cradle, display base, and limited-edition certificate.
