Model History and Information: The EA-6B Prowler was the electronic-warfare branch of the Intruder family, carrying a four-person crew and jamming equipment to support carrier and joint operations. VAQ-129, the Vikings, was the U.S. Navy's Fleet Replacement Squadron for the type, based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, training EA-6B aircrew and maintainers until the squadron transitioned to the EA-18G Growler in 2015. Its 2011 Naval Aviation Centennial presentation marked the hundred-year anniversary of U.S. naval aviation rather than a single combat deployment, applied to bureau number 160609 while the aircraft was assigned to the training unit.
