Model History and Information: The Aeronautica Militare, the Italian Air Force, was founded on 28 March 1923, making 2023 the centenary of the service. The Eurofighter Typhoon is the mainstay of its air-defence fleet, a twin-engine, canard-delta multirole fighter that Italy has operated since the early 2000s from wings including the 4th and 36th Stormo. Serials in the 36- series identify aircraft assigned to 36 Stormo at Gioia del Colle. To mark the hundred-year anniversary, the service applied commemorative liveries to front-line aircraft and presented them at air shows during 2023, including the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. This Typhoon carries such a centenary scheme alongside standard Italian Air Force markings.
