Model History and Information: The F-15EX Eagle II is the latest F-15 variant ordered by the US Air Force. In 2024 the Department of Defense announced that 36 F-15EX aircraft would replace the 48 F-15C/D fighters of the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Serial 22-0022 first flew at Boeing's St. Louis facility on 4 August 2026 and appeared in full 18th Wing markings on 15 August. Boeing delivered it in September 2026, and permanent arrivals of F-15EX aircraft at Kadena are scheduled for fiscal year 2027.
