Model History and Information: The F-15K is the Republic of Korea Air Force's derivative of the Boeing F-15E, selected in 2002 under the country's next-generation fighter program. The first aircraft flew in 2005, and initial examples were delivered that October; a first batch of forty was followed by roughly twenty-one more delivered between 2010 and 2012. Named for its Standoff Land Attack Missile capability, it is a two-seat, twin-engine multirole fighter equipped for long-range precision strike as well as air superiority, and carries an infrared search-and-track sensor among its systems. The entire fleet is assigned to the 11th Fighter Wing at Daegu Air Base.
