Model History and Information: The Chilean Air Force operates two F-16 fleets: ten new-build F-16C/D Block 50 jets bought directly from the United States, and 36 second-hand F-16AM/BM Mid-Life Update aircraft acquired from the Netherlands in two batches delivered between 2006 and 2011. The ex-Dutch machines are Block 15/20 airframes brought up to MLU standard, giving them modernised avionics, cockpit displays and weapons integration comparable to later Vipers; further upgrades toward the M6.6 configuration have since been contracted. Chilean F-16s perform air-defence and multirole duties. This airframe belongs to the ex-Netherlands MLU fleet; the specific tail could not be individually verified in primary sources, so its personal history is treated cautiously.
