Model History and Information: Edwards Air Force Base in California is the United States Air Force's principal flight-test center, home to the Air Force Test Center and the 412th Test Wing. Two-seat F-16D Fighting Falcons based there support developmental and operational testing, serving as chase aircraft, safety platforms and testbeds for new sensors, systems and weapons before fielding. The tandem cockpit lets a test pilot concentrate on flying while an engineer or second aviator monitors instrumentation. Serial 85-1572 is presented in Edwards test-fleet markings for 2024.
