Model History and Information: The two-seat F-16D Fighting Falcon serves the Republic of Singapore Air Force as both an operational and advanced training aircraft. Since 1993 RSAF pilots have trained on the F-16 with the 425th Fighter Squadron 'Black Widows' at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, under the bilateral Peace Carvin II detachment; the squadron is part of the 56th Operations Group within the U.S. Air Force's 56th Fighter Wing but flies Singapore-owned aircraft marked with RSAF roundels and squadron insignia. The Black Widow name traces to a Second World War P-61 night-fighter squadron, revived at Luke in December 1992.
