Model History and Information: NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards, California, has flown F/A-18 Hornets for many years as research aircraft and as chase planes supporting the flight testing of experimental aircraft. This model depicts a NASA Hornet in special 'Freedom 250' markings celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 2026.
