The base lies in southern Kyushu, chosen partly for its proximity to the home port of the ships the type will fly from: although the aircraft belong to the Air Self-Defense Force, they are intended to operate from the Maritime Self-Defense Force vessels Izumo and Kaga, both converted for fixed-wing aviation. Japan plans a fleet of forty-two F-35B alongside its larger F-35A force, and a dedicated vertical landing facility is under construction on the island of Mageshima.

Model Features & Details:

This highly detailed diecast model is fully licensed by Lockheed Martin Corporation.

It is a true to scale model and contains functional parts designed for realism and display.

The model is largely handcrafted and only premium materials are used, making the range one of the most valued military finished models by collectors.

Highly detailed and authentic printings and finishing

Highly refined and realistic panel lines

Detailed cockpit with pilot figure

Optional canopies for open and closed positions

Optional landing gears that allow model to be displayed either in landing mode or flying mode

Optional open and closed weapon bays

Weapons load included based on real plane reference

Stand included for flying mode

Packaging: Full-color printed paper box with a flap over cover.
