Model History and Information: Major George Andrew Davis Jr. commanded the 334th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter-Interceptor Group, over Korea and became the leading American ace of that war. A World War II veteran, he was credited with fourteen aerial victories in the Sabre before being killed in action on 10 February 1952 near the Yalu River, when his aircraft was shot down after he pressed a lone attack against a much larger MiG-15 formation. For that action he received the Medal of Honor posthumously and was promoted to lieutenant colonel. Gun-camera film from Sabre 51-2752 recorded some of his engagements in late 1951. The scheme represents his aircraft during the 4th Group's operations over 'MiG Alley.'
