Model History and Information: Kuwait ordered 28 F/A-18E/F Super Hornets in 2018, 22 single-seat F/A-18E and six two-seat F/A-18F, in a contract worth about 1.5 billion US dollars. The first Kuwaiti F/A-18E, serial 803, was seen in frontline paint at Boeing's St. Louis facility in 2020. Boeing completed delivery of all 28 aircraft to the US Navy in September 2021, ahead of their eventual transfer to Kuwait. The handover was delayed by airbase infrastructure work at Ahmed Al-Jaber and was expected in 2026. The markings on this model follow the aircraft named in the product title.
