Model History and Information: The Mirage 2000B is the two-seat trainer version of Dassault's delta-wing fighter; its prototype first flew on 11 October 1980. Escadron de Chasse 2/5 Ile-de-France, based at Orange, traces its lineage to No. 340 (Free French) Squadron, formed within the Royal Air Force in 1941, and from 1998 it handled conversion training for French Mirage 2000 pilots with two-seat aircraft. Its 115-K tail codes came from airframes transferred from other French squadrons. In July 2010 a French Mirage 2000B coded 115-KS, serial 528, flew in the Battle of Britain 70th anniversary flypast at the Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford. This model represents that aircraft.
