Model History and Information: J-5002 is a single-seat F/A-18C of the Swiss Air Force, part of the 34-aircraft Hornet fleet assembled under licence at Emmen and delivered between 1996 and 1999. The Swiss Hornet force provides air-policing and air-defence, flying from hardened bases such as Payerne and Meiringen while undergoing life-extension upgrades ahead of eventual replacement by the F-35A. Swiss squadrons periodically apply special commemorative liveries, reflecting the country's long association with the NATO Tiger Meet through its tiger-badged Fliegerstaffel 11.
