Model History and Information: The Royal Netherlands Air Force was an early European F-16 operator, receiving F-16A/B aircraft from the late 1970s and later upgrading much of the fleet under the Mid-Life Update programme to F-16AM/BM standard with improved avionics and weapons capability. The two-seat F-16B served in conversion training and operational roles from bases including Leeuwarden and Volkel, the latter also holding a NATO nuclear strike commitment. Dutch F-16s carried serials in the J-series. This airframe is presented in Netherlands markings as a two-seat example of that fleet.
