Model History and Information: Chengdu's J-10 first flew in 1998, an important milestone because China had developed the fighter domestically rather than building it under foreign licence. The later J-10C combines the characteristic canard-delta planform with an AESA radar, updated electronic warfare equipment and PL-10 and PL-15 air-to-air missiles. It entered PLAAF service in 2018 as a modern multirole fighter. These numbered PLAAF aircraft represent that current generation rather than the earlier J-10A and J-10B variants. Aircraft 74624 is represented in People’s Liberation Army Air Force markings.
