The airframe is externally familiar but the contents are Chinese: an active electronically scanned array radar, domestic electronic warfare equipment, indigenous weapons and WS-10B engines. It entered service in 2015 and was shown publicly at the parade marking the ninetieth anniversary of the People's Liberation Army in 2017.
